The project of building a social network that inspired the script for the documentary "Enlared" part of an exceptional opportunity for recovery and reuse of a heritage street furniture, container homes, provided by the Municipal Hall Urban Renewal Zaragoza.
Juan Rubio del Val, the Municipal League, said in their day to Santiago Cirugeda after a lecture on the COA of Zaragoza, which was to dismantle a gypsy village and 14 houses of 42 m2 were going to stay empty. These homes were built with prefabricated 3 each and had been serving as interim settlement of ethnic Gypsy population, which eventually were resettled in public housing.

Starting on March 17, 2007, from the study became urban recipes a mailing offering different assemblies, cooperatives, groups and associations, award them the possibility of different containers to host free residential and / or employment. The transport of the same, installing and managing licenses and permissions, run of the groups who take the responsibility to use. The tuning and conditioning of the same is done in collaboration with urban recipes, including possible to probate, the technical justifications, installation projects, as well as liability insurance architect Santiago Cirugeda.

Although the re-use of containers has involved a number of 13 groups that work with the self as one of its weapons of participation, the survey and contacts made during these three years of hard work, not limited only to 13, if there have been numerous collaborations with others who have shown the importance of self-management processes that complement or propose a different social and political work to be constantly trying to exercise control over any public activity.

Today there are more than 50 groups in Spain, 11 in Latin America (Argentina, Colombia, Mexico, Paraguay and Uruguay) the network working in different projects. But most important of all are the new synergies and work dynamics that arise from the common work of all these groups.

In an environment how the current crisis is becoming more necessary the participation and collaboration of the groups to get projects out on.

Today starts this space I have called Enlared. This chapter will explain why my next documentary project. The documentary has been the language in which in recent years, I have relied to explain the stories that were happening around me and that for some reason, in turn, motivated me to do.

This project started back in March 2007, when one day, my good friend James Cirugeda calls me from Seville and says:

- "Killo" tomorrow 45 prefabricated modules are removed from a gypsy village in Zaragoza [...] is going to divide by different groups in Spain [...] If you can see a record [...] Do not know what we do with the images, It would be interesting to have that document -.

And you know when a friend asks a favor ... You should try to fulfill. And so, I went to Zaragoza and recorded, how about unloading trucks and 45 prefabricated modules were taken to different parts of Spain. I, of all that was known at the time, was that the modules were to be distributed to different social groups.

At that point was not raised to do anything in particular with those images being archived in a corner of one of my hard drives. The only intention was to await the movements of the groups once had the modules in their hands. At first raised several questions, especially about its location, obtaining permits and the use that each group could be given.

Since then has been almost three years and many of the questions we asked then already have answers, most modules are located and about 20 groups that had at the beginning, has spent more than 50.

All this has led to a germ in a network, which extends not only by Spain, but it comes to Europe and Latin America. Within this network, share ideas, projects, information, resources and desire to do things together, in different areas such as architecture, art, culture, education, activism, politics, education, new technologies ...

We know that the network works, it brings synergies, new projects and new groups of people who created this model of development and where there is still energy to do things. There have been meetings, new spaces have been built, with or without modules have been established protocols in different areas and today we can say that there are hundreds of people in touch from different parts of the world.

This project arises from working with Urban and James Cirugeda recipes in my previous project SPANISH € DR € AM , in addition to the various mutual collaboration we've had in the past 5 years. A few days in Seville James and I commented:

- No way to have an ending to the documentary, this is not for [...] A young Saints Maimona-Badajoz want to recycle a cement to make it a center of art [...] Right now it has no end, no one stop it.

Undoubtedly, the dimension is acquiring this project is one of the reasons that led me to get into the adventure of starting this blog and video as well, we all have the feeling that this time and this documentary will never end ... In addition to providing more than just an external look and feel that also formed part of the network.

And how is the presentation of the video blog, do not explain more, and I hope you follow their content. I just want to mention two people to me, how a mere spectator, have been instrumental in developing this project, James Cirugeda, ideologue of the project, was the one who threw the stone to the groups to organize themselves and sought to expand network to Latin America and David Juarez, thanks to its ability to manage projects and energy to carry them out, has managed to unite more groups and this to continue gaining more importance.

PS: Someone will have to do in 20 years a documentary on this network, to appreciate all that has been, is and will ... Surely not me.
